Royce Reed, the mother of one of Howard's illegitimate children, made multiple accusations of mental and physical abuse against him.
Recently, former NBA player Howard talked about the mistakes he made when he was young on the podcast Curious Mike.
"After I entered the league at the age of 18, I had countless opportunities and millions of dollars of wealth, becoming the core of the team and the darling of the city. However, people always try to point out my shortcomings, such as having children out of wedlock, to question my character. But what I want to say is, no matter how upright you think you are, or even close to God, praying for 12 hours a day, you have to know that if an 18-year-old young man suddenly has everything, he will inevitably make mistakes." Howard said.
"I lost my virginity when I was 18 years old, and then I entered the league. Faced with various temptations, I found that money can buy everything and do whatever you want, but the key lies in choice. God gives us free will. My parents did a good job in this regard, allowing me to never stray away from my mother even if I occasionally deviate from the track. Mother is God, this is where it all begins and should not be left. Of course, people have flaws and failures, but it’s important to learn how to deal with having multiple children out of wedlock, and it’s really complicated. I have to take responsibility for that and promise them that I will be the best father I can be.”
