The Lakers officially announced Smart's joining, who accepted an interview with the media and was asked about his feelings about being a teammate with James.
"I'm lucky to have witnessed this from the other side (as a teammate) and learn from it, rather than being eliminated/beated by him," Smart said. "It was definitely a lucky opportunity for me."
During his career, Smart was eliminated by James in the playoffs three times.
