According to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport, the contract renewal between Juventus and player Yildiz has stalled, and the difference in salary expectations between the two parties is 1 million euros.
Juventus and Yildiz failed to reach an agreement: Negotiations to renew the contract until 2030 have reached an impasse and the two sides are reconsidering. Neither side could reach a compromise on the transfer fee or even certain contract terms. After months of negotiations, Juventus CEO Comolli and Yildiz's team decided to suspend negotiations.
Yildiz is unwilling to accept a new contract that is different from his expectations, but is prepared to continue his Juventus career with his current salary (€1.7 million plus bonuses) - ranking 19th on the club's salary list.
Currently only Palin (€1.5 million), Rugani (€1.4 million), Miretti (€1.2 million), Cabal (€1.2 million), Pinsoglio (€300,000) and Adzic (€300,000) have lower salaries than Yildiz.
This is not only a question of money, but also a question of principle. Yildiz had hoped to get a contract that would bring his financial status into line with his status. In other words: it is not the 12 million euros net income of Vlahovic, the team's highest-paid player, but similar to David's 6 million euros annual salary.
The difference between the asking price and the quoted price is approximately €1 million per year. On the surface it wasn't a huge gap, but it was enough to jeopardize the deal and Yildiz attracted the attention of Europe's top clubs. Chelsea made an offer of 67 million euros in July last year and are preparing to compete with Real Madrid and Arsenal next summer. In 2022, Yildiz will join from Bayern Munich on a free transfer, but if a bidding war starts between the giants next summer, his worth may exceed 100 million euros.
Even if the contract renewal negotiations have reached an impasse, the relationship between Yildiz and Juventus remains the same, and Yildiz still loves Juventus deeply. Lately, he has expressed that loyalty more through leadership than through goals alone (three goals so far this season, the latest a penalty against Udinese). He showed extraordinary leadership during the team's most painful record crisis and the transition of head coach from Tudor to Spalletti.
