German media "Bild" reported that Bayern winger Gnabry is getting better and better under Kompany's hands. His contract will expire next summer and he is also fighting for his future.

The "Bild" article described Gnabry as one of Bayern's winners so far this season. The 30-year-old German international was not part of Bayern's regular lineup last season, but now under Kompany, Gnabry has secured his main position this season.

In the 16 games so far, Gnabry has appeared on the field in 14 games (4 goals and 4 assists). In the two games he missed, he was suffering from groin discomfort. So far this season, Kompany has never voluntarily given up using Gnabry.

In Bayern's 2-1 away victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Gnabry also showed a strong performance: in Luis Dias's 1-0 goal, he played a key role through a wonderful pass. Gnabry was active at other times, hitting the post in the 31st minute.

"Bild" praised Gnabry for becoming a new player: By expressing his trust in Gnabry internally and publicly, Kompany has given the winger, who has had ups and downs in recent years, a new lease of life.

Kompany said as early as the beginning of the season: "Gnabry has always been a top player. Maybe he has had some fluctuations in form in the past. But if we talk about talent and ability, it does not surprise me that he is performing well now. He has this strength, which is obvious in training and games. I hope he can continue to maintain this level this season."

At least that is the case so far. In addition, Gnabry also benefited from the departure of many offensive players: Muller (36 years old/Vancouver Whitecaps), Sane (29 years old/Galatasaray), Koeman (29 years old/Riyadh Victory) and Ter (20 years old/Tottenham Hotspur) have all left the club, Bayern's lineup has been significantly thinned, which provides Gnabry with more space.

According to reports, Gnabry's situation has undergone a complete reversal: before the start of the season, Gnabry was still considered a popular candidate to leave the team, and all signs indicated that the two sides were about to break up, but now all options are suddenly reopened!

Gnabry returned to his best form and played a long-lost strong performance. Another possible reason for his improved performance is that his contract expires next summer. Gnabry is also currently fighting for his future at Bayern Munich.

Sports director Eberl said about a month ago: "We have been considering this matter, that is clear. If we think the time is right, we will start negotiations calmly and privately. He feels very comfortable, he is healthy, and is not thinking about this, but playing football, and he is doing very well at the moment."

This means: If Gnabry maintains his current performance level, a contract extension between both parties is definitely on the agenda. No decision has been made yet, but the door is open to him again. However, Gnabry may have to accept a pay cut by then. Currently, he is one of Bayern's highest-paid players with an annual salary of about 19 million euros.
