According to French media footmercato, Lille is trying to introduce 38-year-old forward Giroud who plays for Los Angeles FC.

Girou and Los Angeles FC will hold a meeting after the Club World Cup to conduct assessments and discuss the future. Giroud's contract is in December 2025 and has the option to renew a one-year contract, but the initiative to activate the option is in the hands of the Los Angeles FC. This will be one of the contents of the talks between the two sides in the coming days, as Los Angeles FC has been eliminated from the Club World Cup.

Lille is also working hard to sign Giroud. Chairman Oliver Le Tang assumed in an interview: "Giroud is a very high-level player. Since 2012, he has played and performed well in top European clubs. Giroud himself and his family are excellent. I hope he can join us because he meets our requirements in terms of game ability, experience, professionalism and humanistic value. But he currently belongs to a club and I can't see how this (transfer) can be achieved."

However, Giroud's transfer has made progress. It is reported that Lille is full of confidence and is discussing a one-year contract with Giroud for an option of renewal. Giroud is interested in the program. Sources say Giroud hopes to sign Lille. There, he will play under the coach Genesio, whom he admires.
