In an interview, Lazio defender Marusic talked about topics such as the first round of Serie A in the new season, the team's tactics, his position and personal goals.

The new season's Serie A will begin 10 days later. Lazio will challenge Como away in the first round of the league. This summer, Cuomo has introduced many new players and its strength has been enhanced.

We respect Como, but we are Lazio. We have to work hard to win every game, it’s not easy, no game can be easily won, but we are Lazio. I have been with the team for many years and I am proud of it and I am very happy to have worked with myself for 9 years. I am eager to improve in every training and every game and want to do my best for this team.

How is Nuno Tavarez recovering now? How is his training?

He worked very well from the beginning. I'm very happy about this because he can provide important help to this team.

Do you have to re-adapt to coach Surrey’s tactical requirements?

Except Nuno Tavarez and Provsgaard who were later players, our other defenders had known him when Sarri first coached Lazio, and the tactics at that time remained in our minds. We already know how Coach Surrey wants the defense to work, which will be easier for us to adapt.

What new requirements do you have in defense?

I talked to Coach Surrey and he asked if I could help the team as a central defender because both Patrick and Gigo are currently injured. I've never played this position in the past, but I told him I'd like to try it. In the past, when Inzaghi was coaching Lazio, I played in the central defender position in the three-back formation, but playing in the central defender is completely different in the four-back formation.

What are your personal goals in the new season?

As always, I want to stay healthy, feel good, play as many games as possible and help the team. I hope to be able to celebrate many wins with our fans.
