Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sara urged AC Milan and Inter Milan to speed up plans for new stadiums, after the sale was approved.
At a critical moment in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the city council voted to approve the sale of San Siro Stadium to AC Milan and Inter Milan. Although there may be some appeals, the two clubs are ready to start a new stadium construction project over the years.
Red and Black Legion and Neptune have even selected companies responsible for designing the new stadium, Foster and Partner Architecture and Manica Architecture. Both companies have extensive experience and expertise to build world-class facilities.
Sara redirected the pressure to the club at the launching ceremony of the Milan Digital Week and asked them to announce the complete stadium plan as soon as possible.
He said: "We need to know when AC Milan and Inter will invite Norman Foster to explain their project. I have been telling the two clubs that they need to speed up. Foster's schedule will certainly not be idle, and we also need to understand the current status of the project. Now we need to move from the administrative stage to the communication stage. Citizens need to see the quality level of the new stadium."
