The Spanish Le Nation disclosed that the Spanish tax authorities had attempted to search the residence of La Liga President Javier Tebas in 2015 for evidence of suspected tax fraud, but the action was not approved by a judge.

The specific time was June 16 of that year, three days before the La Liga Special Conference was held. The meeting aimed at finalizing the Spanish professional football television broadcasting rights agreement.

The National Archives obtained three emails from then-Corporate Secretary Cristobal Montoro's chief of staff Felipe Martinez Rico, which revealed that he had applied for a search of Tebas' residence.

The President of La Liga quickly responded to this, and he wrote on Twitter: "They have been manipulating the cards for more than ten years, and they have continued to this day. They believe that they can get away with it because of their 'superiority' and the acquiesce of some political circles. The truth has been told to me, and now the truth of the judicial system has emerged, and we will pursue it to the end."
