According to The Times, Wembley is likely to win the right to host the 2030 Champions League final, while Camp Nou will win the right to host the 2029 Champions League final.

Wembley and Camp Nou are vying for the right to host the 2029 Champions League final, but insiders revealed that although Madrid has decided to host the final at the Atletico Metropolitano Stadium in 2027, Spain will not be able to bid for that year's Champions League final because Spain will co-host the World Cup in 2030. Therefore, if Barcelona submits formal application materials before April next year, there is a high probability that Barcelona will win the right to host the event in 2029.

For the Football Association, there is no schedule conflict. After successfully hosting the 2028 European Cup, welcoming the Champions League final at Wembley two years later is in line with the government's strategic plan to attract more large-scale sports events to the UK. London has officially applied to host the 2029 World Athletics and Para Athletics Championships, and the official application documents will be submitted soon; at the same time, Cardiff's Millennium Stadium is striving to host the 2029 Women's Champions League final.
