Today, the second season of Lakers forward James' podcast program "The Brain of the Field" was updated in the latest episode. James talked about many topics with the guest host Nash. The theme of this issue is the NBA draft and potential changes in NBA rules.

Nash: "About Cooper, you can resonate with him, he is a recognized No. 1 pick, a great player. What do you remember about being in that situation? What advice would you give him? It's like you know you're No. 1 pick, and the whole basketball world is watching you, that brings a lot of expectations."

James: "Absolutely. First of all, you'll be super excited, it's something we all dreamed of when we were kids, lying on your bed, holding a basketball in your hand, shooting against the ceiling, practicing your shooting, doing that kind of thing. Or if you can put a basket on your driveway, and you'll count down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Want to make a buzzer-beater in the NBA one day. You will also grow up wearing other people's jerseys, you will wear other people's signature shoes, you play the players you admire and want to imitate in the game. Then you come to this moment, you feel awesome, you think, 'Wow, I can't believe that this dream is finally coming true.' At the same time, you will also feel a little pressure and tension that comes with it. Because as the No. 1 pick, you will automatically carry people's expectations, no matter whether those expectations are correct or not.

"And we are about the same age, when I was selected, I was 18 years old, and Cooper is 18 years old now, maybe 19 years old. But it takes time, and the expectation given by the outside world to a 18- or 19-year-old child is to be excellent immediately. I don't think this is fair. But I also think like me, Cooper can turn it into motivation. I personally think he wants to achieve greatness, he has had an amazing year at Duke, he can do so many different things on the court, he can play holding balls or off the ball, his jump shot will get better and better, he has excellent athleticism, and his second jump jump is very fast.

"And unlike myself, he benefits from joining a team that has already been formed. The team is full of Hall of Fame players, such as Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, and that's what it starts with. Hall of Fame coach Jason Kidd, they will give him all the blueprints, and he will continue to learn what his blueprints will look like. I think every day he has those people around him, that kind of leadership, that level of basketball IQ and knowledge, will benefit him. So I think he will be very good."
