Mawei was sent to the Lakers by the Hornets in the trade, but later because of a physical examination, the trade was cancelled. He was eventually traded to the Suns during the offseason.
Ma Wei played 44 games last season, averaging 15.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game.
