In the fifth round of the UEFA Champions League, Liverpool lost 1-4 at home to PSV Eindhoven, losing 9 of the last 12 games in all competitions.
A reporter asked Sloter at the post-match press conference whether he could still feel the support of the club's senior management after experiencing this disastrous defeat.
Sloter: "I have always felt (the coaching position) is very safe. The senior management has given me a lot of support. It would be better if I could turn the situation around and win. But (doubts) are part of the coaching job and will inevitably appear when you lead the team with poor results. "
When asked how sports director Richard Hughes and others gave him support, Sloter added : "It's not that they tell me every minute, 'We support you, support you, support you.' They provide me and the team with tangible help, and we do have such communication, but they don't call every moment to emphasize that they still trust me. But when we communicate in depth, I can feel the trust. I haven't talked to them after this game, we will see."
